Narrative
I WAS PIC ON A LCL TRAINING FLT IN A LIGHT SINGLE-ENG AIRPLANE. ONLY MYSELF AND MY STUDENT WERE ON BOARD. I HAD JUST COMPLETED A LNDG ON RWY 24L. WIND WAS APPROX 180 DEGS/15 KTS. I RECEIVED AND ACKNOWLEDGED A CLRNC TO TAXI AHEAD AND EXIT THE RWY TO THE L ON TXWY B. BECAUSE OF THE XWIND LNDG JUST COMPLETED; I WAS IN CTL OF THE AIRPLANE; NO STUDENT CTL INPUT. THE XWIND CONDITIONS WOULD HAVE BEEN FAR MORE THAN THE EARLY PVT PLT STUDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF HANDLING. I MISTAKENLY EXITED THE RWY AT TXWY C; RATHER THAN AT TXWY B; AS THE CLRNC SPECIFIED. AS I WAS MAKING THE TURN OFF THE RWY; I DID NOT NOTICE THE FACT THAT THE CTLR HAD A SMALL HUGHES TRAINING HELI TAXIING (HOVER TAXI) TO MY L; WBOUND ON THE TXWY PARALLEL TO RWY 24. AS I MADE MY NEXT TURN TO THE R ONTO THE PARALLEL TXWY; THE CTLR CALLED ME AND SAID THAT I HAD JUST TURNED IN FRONT OF THE HELI. AS I GLANCED BACK; I NOTICED THE HELI MAKING A L TURN TOWARD THE RAMP AREA; ABOUT 100-150 FT BEHIND. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN EVASIVE ACTION ON HIS PART; I AM UNABLE TO SAY; BECAUSE THE TURN WAS MADE BY THE HELI SMOOTHLY AND AT MODERATE SPD; AND BECAUSE I AM STILL NOT AWARE OF WHAT THE HELI PLT'S INTENTIONS MIGHT HAVE BEEN; AT THIS WRITING. I CONTINUED TO TAXI UNEVENTFULLY TO THE RAMP AREA.
