Narrative
FLYING WBOUND TO OKM. SAW A BONANZA F33A AT MY 2 O'CLOCK POS HEADED SW AT 4500 FT. I MADE AN EVASIVE PULL-UP TO AVOID COLLISION. BOTH WINGS OF MY ACFT SUFFERED MAJOR BENDING AND LNDG GEAR UP-LOCKS FAILED AND MAIN GEAR FREE FELL OUT OF WELLS. LNDG WAS SUCCESSFUL AT OKM. DON'T THINK THE BEECH EVER SAW ME. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THIS IS A HOME BUILT; ALL METAL ACFT DESIGNED BY THE DESIGNER OF THE CITATION AND THE MALIBU ACFT. THE DESIGN IS VERY STRONG AND RPTR INDICATES IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 10 G'S TO DISLODGE THE WHEEL LOCKS. HE HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DESIGNER WHO IS REVIEWING PICTURES AND OTHER INFO TO ASSIST A DETERMINATION OF WHETHER TO REBUILD OR JUST REPLACE THE WINGS. THE ACFT IS DESIGNED FOR 6 G STRESS WITH A 150 PERCENT SAFETY MARGIN; EQUALING 9 G'S. RPTR'S ABRUPT PULL-UP STRESSED THE ACFT BEYOND THIS AMOUNT. RPTR SAID THE AIRPLANE FLEW OK BUT HE COULD SEE THE BUCKLING ON THE UPPER WING AND OF COURSE HAD TO SLOW THE ACFT WITH THE GEAR DOWN. NORMAL CRUISE IS ABOUT 240 KTS. RPTR FEELS THE BONANZA PLT HAD VERY REDUCED VISIBILITY WITH THE SUN IN HIS EYES AND CONSEQUENTLY NEVER SAW HIM. THE FAA TRIED TO CHK RADAR TRACKING TO LOCATE THE OTHER PLT WITH NO SUCCESS. RPTR IS AN AGRICULTURAL PLT AND AN A&P AS WELL AS A HOME BUILDER.
