A BEECH 90 ACCOMPLISHED AN EMER GEAR UP LNDG WHEN THE LNDG GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND IN NORMAL OR MANUAL MODES.

Narrative

AT APPROX XA45 ON FEB/XX/97 I WAS CLRED TO LAND IN MEM ON RWY 18R. I PUT THE GEAR HANDLE DOWN AT THE MARKER AND GOT NO GEAR MOVEMENT; SOUND; OR INDICATION AT ALL. I CYCLED GEAR UP THEN DOWN -- NO LUCK. I REQUESTED AND DID A FLY- BY THE TWR WHO RPTED SEEING A LITTLE MAIN WHEEL OUT OF THE WELLS. IN REALITY; I DON'T THINK ANY GEAR WAS DOWN; KING AIR 90'S HAVE A LITTLE TIRE SHOWING WHEN THE WHEELS ARE UP AND LOCKED WITH GEAR DOORS CLOSED. FOR THE NEXT APPROX 1 1/2 HRS; I TRIED TO GET THE GEAR DOWN WITH NO LUCK. 3 MECHS AND A BEECHCRAFT TECH REPRESENTATIVE WERE COMMUNICATING WITH ME THROUGH APCH CTL. FINALLY WITH NO OPTIONS LEFT; AT ABOUT XB10; I REQUESTED A CLRNC TO LAND. I PUT IT DOWN ON RWY 9. WIND WAS ABOUT 120 DEGS AT 6 KTS. FEATHERED PROPS; SHUT DOWN ENGS; ELECTRICITY AND FUEL AS I WENT OVER THE NUMBERS. ACFT HAS VERY LITTLE DAMAGE. PLT IS UNHURT. UPON INSPECTION; IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE NOSEGEAR ACTUATOR IS TOTALLY JAMMED UP; FROZEN SOLID AND WILL NOT TURN (EVEN WHEN THEY TRIED WITH ACTUATOR IN A VISE). ACTUATOR HAS NOT BEEN OPENED YET TO DETERMINE CAUSE.
