Narrative

I WAS AT THE GA RAMP AND WAS CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 18L AND WAS TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 23 AT TXWY X. AS I APCHED RWY 23 ON TXWY X; I TURNED L AND ROUNDED THE CORNER AT INTXN Y. THEN GND CTL CLRED ME TO CROSS RWY 23 AND TAXI TO HOLD SHORT RWY 18L. BEING FACED TOWARD RWY 18L I BEGAN TO TAXI FORWARD AND CROSSED RWY 18L INSTEAD OF RWY 23 BY MISTAKE. DURING MY TAXI ACROSS RWY 18L; AN ACR FLT HAD BEEN CLRED FOR TKOF AND HAD BEGUN THEIR ROLL. LOOKING TO THE R; I SAW THE ACR JET AND EXPEDITED ACROSS WHERE I REALIZED MY MISTAKE. THE ACR FLT ABORTED THEIR TKOF ROLL AND EXITED RWY 18L AT INTXN Y ALSO. BEING CLRED TO RWY 18L WASN'T UNUSUAL FOR ME; BUT THE RTE I HAD ALWAYS BEEN GIVEN TO RWY 18L WAS VIA INTXN Y TO TXWY Z TO CROSS RWY 23 -- THAT IS THE RTE I TOOK MISTAKENLY. THE CLRNC TO TAXI TO RWY 18L; HOLD SHORT AT TXWY X WAS UNUSUAL FOR ME. HAD THE GND CTLR SEEN ME FACING TOWARD RWY 18L MAYBE SHE COULD HAVE PREVENTED MY MISTAKE. I WAS IN NO HURRY OR RUSHING; I JUST TOOK THE RTE I HAD ALWAYS BEEN GIVEN IN THE PAST. HEIGHTENED AWARENESS ON MY PART AND THE GND CTLR'S PART COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS.
