DC10 FLC PERFORMS A LNDG ON THE WRONG RWY AT SJU. ACFT HAD BEEN HIGH AND PIC TOOK ACFT AWAY FROM THE FO. STILL TOO HIGH FOR RWY 10; PIC ELECTED TO LAND ON RWY 8; WITHOUT CLRNC. THIS WAS A NIGHT CARGO FLT WITH ALL 3 CREW MEMBERS LOW IN TIME IN ACFT IN THEIR POS.

Narrative

RWYS 8 AND 10 WERE AVAILABLE FOR LNDGS. WE BRIEFED LNDG RWY 8. FO WAS FLYING AND GOT BEHIND ON OUR DSCNT. I TRIED TO ALLOW HIM TO GO AS FAR AS I COULD BEFORE STARTING TO DIRECT HIS FLYING AND THEN FINALLY TAKING THE ACFT. HE WAS LOW TIME IN ACFT AND I AM LOW TIME (LESS THAN 100 HRS) IN L SEAT. IN THE RUSH TO CONFIGURE AND GET DOWN FOR THE LNDG; I ERRONEOUSLY REQUESTED TO LAND ON RWY 10 AND THEN PROCEEDED TO LAND ON RWY 8. AFTER LNDG; TWR ASKED US IF WE WANTED TO LAND ON RWY 8 AS WE HAD REQUESTED RWY 10. NO OTHER ACFT WERE OPERATING AT THE ARPT AND NO CONFLICT WAS RPTED FROM THE TWR. IN RETROSPECT I ALLOWED THE SIT TO GO TOO FAR BEFORE TAKING THE ACFT. FATIGUE WAS ALSO A FACTOR AS IT WAS THE END OF A 12 HR 55 MIN DUTY DAY. I HAD THE PRIOR LEG OPERATED FROM PDX WHICH HAS RWY 10 AS PRIMARY PARALLEL RWYS WHICH MAY HAVE STUCK IN MY TIRED MIND. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 363984: CAPT REQUESTED RWY 10 DUE TO LNDG WT. APCH WAS A HIGH DROP-OFF FOR ILS. ACFT NEEDED TO DROP LNDG GEAR TO INCREASE DRAG AND SINK RATE. HIGH MINIMUMS CAPT TOOK CTL FOR LNDG AND FELT HE COULDN'T MAKE RWY 10; CONTINUED DSCNT; AND L TURN TO LAND ON RWY 8. TWR NOTIFIED AFTER LNDG. SO'S FIRST FLT TO SJS; FAILED TO BACK UP CAPT AND FO. TWR ADVISED AND SPOKE WITH CREW; AND CREW ADVISED BY TWR; NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED.
