FLC OF A DH8 STRUCK WING ON DEICING GND EQUIP PROTRUDING ONTO THE RAMP PARKING AREA CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE WINGTIP AND AILERON.
Narrative
AFTER CLRING RWY 30 AT EAT; WE TAXIED EBOUND TOWARDS THE RAMP FOR PARKING. AS WE ENTERED THE RAMP AREA; I PLACED MY THUMB UP ON THE GLARESHIELD AND MONITORED THE MOVEMENT OF THE R WING. FROM AN EASTERLY HDG; WE MADE AN APPROX 180 DEG TURN TOWARDS THE L TO LINE UP WITH THE MARSHALLER. AS WE ROLLED OUT OF THE L TURN; THE R WING STRUCK THE UPPER PORTION OF DEICING EQUIP CAUSING WHAT APPEARED TO BE MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEADING EDGE AND MORE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE AILERON. AT NO TIME ON THE RAMP DID I NEGLECT TO DO MY DUTY OF MONITORING THE MOVEMENT OF THE R WING. I SIMPLY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO WARN CAPT OF THE IMPENDING COLLISION. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS OF THIS ACCIDENT INCLUDE: THE CAPT OVERSHOOTING HIS TURN; THE MARSHALLER NOT CLRING THE AREA OF OBSTRUCTIONS; THE MARSHALLER ATTEMPTING TO PARK US IN AN UNAUTH SPOT; LACK OF LEAD-IN LINES TO FOLLOW; THE LOCATION OF THE DEICING EQUIP; THE RAPID TURN RADIUS OF THE WING DURING THE L TURN WHICH PREVENTED ME FROM WARNING THE CAPT IN SUFFICIENT TIME TO STOP.
