ACR MLG AFTER EXTENDED DELAY ACCOUNT WIND AND WX; WHEN TKOF PWR APPLIED GOT TKOF WARNING HORN. ABORTED TKOF AT 10 KTS AND EXITED THE RWY. FOUND AFT TRIM JUST OUT OF THE LIMITS AREA ON THE CAPT SIDE. RESET TRIM SLIGHTLY FORWARD AND NEXT TKOF OK.

Narrative

AS PWR WAS ADVANCED FOR TKOF; WARNING HORN SOUNDED. TKOF TRIM WAS NEAR AFT LIMIT. TAXIED CLR OF ACTIVE RWY. ACCOMPLISHED AFTER LNDG; TAXI; AND BEFORE TKOF CHKLISTS. MOVED TRIM A COUPLE OF TURNS FORWARD; ADVANCED PWR; NO HORN. ABORTED TKOF WAS AT LESS THAN 10 KTS; SO RETURNED TO LINE AND DEPARTED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WHEN TRIM IS AFT; BUT I HAVE LEARNED OUR AIRLINE; WITH THE HELP OF SOME RETIRED PLTS; ARE INCLUDING THE LIMIT CHK ON STABILIZER TRIM ON THEIR FUNCTIONAL CHK FLTS OUT OF ONE OF THE MAINT LETTER CHKS. THIS SHOULD HELP REFINE THE HORN CALIBRATION. ON THE BOEING ACFT IT SEEMS THERE CAN BE A SMALL DIFFERENCE ON THE FO SETTING. HE/SHE SETS TRIM FOR TKOF AND THE SETTING ON THE CAPT'S SIDE OF THE THROTTLE QUADRANT. IN THIS CASE BOTH NEEDLES WERE INSIDE GREEN BAND. FO READING JUST INSIDE 5 NU CAPT'S READING JUST OUTSIDE 5 NU. THE TAXI AT LGA WAS OVER 1 HR DUE TO WIND AND WT. SINCE WE WERE USING 1 ENG FOR TAXI; I COULD HAVE BROUGHT NON OPERATING ENG THROTTLE UP SOMETIME DURING THE TAXI TO CHK THE SETTING. I'LL PROBABLY INCLUDE THIS IN MY PERSONAL CHK IN FUTURE UNDER LIKE CONDITIONS SINCE WE SEE TAXI WHEN DELAYS ARE EXPECTED AND CONDITIONS ON TXWYS ALLOW.
