Narrative
WE PUSHED OFF OUR GATE AT PIT. THE RAMP CTL SAID TAXI TO V5 AND CONTACT GND. WE DID JUST THAT AND STOPPED JUST SHORT OF TXWY V. JUST BEFORE WE STOPPED THOUGH; THE WX WAS IN QUESTION SO I TUNED UP THE ATIS TO SEE IF THERE WAS AN UPDATE AND THERE WAS. WE THEN STOPPED AND I CONTACTED GND CTL AND HAD THE INTENTION TO COME BACK TO THE ATIS TO SEE WHAT THE DIFFERENCES WERE. GND CTL GAVE US THE CLRNC TO TAXI TO RWY 28R AND HOLD SHORT OF TXWY V. I READ BACK THE CLRNC EXACTLY THE WAY THEY GAVE IT TO US AND THEN I WENT BACK TO LISTEN TO THE ATIS CHANGES. AT THIS POINT; THE CAPT STARTED TAXIING AND I WAS FINISHED WITH THE ATIS AND WE BRIEFLY DISCUSSED THE FACT THAT WE DID NOT NEED TO GET DEICED BECAUSE THE TEMP WAS 36 DEGS F. WE ROUNDED THE CORNER TAXIING N AND JUST PASSING TXWY V4; THE CTLR CAME ON AND SAID WHERE ARE YOU GOING? I REPLIED TAXIING TO RWY 28R. HE ASKED ME TO TELL HIM WHAT THE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WERE AND I TOLD HIM; TAXI TO RWY 28R AND HOLD SHORT OF TXWY V. HE SAID WE ALREADY CROSSED TXWY V; IT WAS PARALLEL TO US. I DID NOT REPLY AND I TOLD THE CAPT HE WAS RIGHT AND WE DID CROSS TXWY V. THE CAPT THOUGHT ABOUT IT AND HE SAID THAT THE CLRNC WAS TO START TAXIING TO RWY 28R SO HE DID WITH THE INTENTION TO STOP AT TXWY V. SINCE WE WERE ALREADY SHORT OF TXWY V WITH THE PARKING BRAKE SET; I GUESS IT NEVER OCCURRED TO THE CAPT THAT WE WERE AT TXWY V OR HE JUST GOT MESSED UP WITH THAT CLRNC AND STARTED TAXIING WITH THE INTENT TO LOOK FOR THE TXWY V SIGN AND HOLD SHORT. WE TALKED ABOUT IT IN THE AIR THROUGH 10000 FT AND BOTH CONCURRED IT WAS A BAD CLRNC. I ELECTED TO SEND IN THE NASA RPT AND WE CONTINUED THE FLT WITHOUT INCIDENT AND WITHOUT THE GND CTLR EVER SAYING ANYTHING TO US AGAIN. I THINK IF THE CTLR WOULD HAVE JUST SAID; HOLD YOUR POS AND EXPECT RWY 28R; THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED.
