Narrative
CLRED RWY 22L AT LFT TURNED ONTO TXWY F AND STARTED TAXIING TO THE GATE. I REALIZED TXWY F WAS VERY NARROW. I RECHKED COMMERCIAL CHART PAGE AND NOTICED TXWY F WAS RESTR TO ACFT BELOW 25000 LBS. NOTE ON COMMERCIAL PAGE WAS VERY SMALL AND HARD TO READ. I THINK A SIGN AT THE ENTRANCE TO TXWY F SHOULD BE INSTALLED AND LIGHTED SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THE ONLY OTHER WAY TO GET TO THE TERMINAL AREA IS TO TAXI ON THE PARALLEL TXWY BTWN THE 2 RWYS TO TXWY B THEN ACROSS THE R RWY. AT NIGHT THE ANNOTATION ON THE ARPT DIAGRAM IS HARD TO PICK UP AND THEY WERE ON THE TXWY BEFORE REALIZING HOW NARROW IT WAS. HIS MAIN CONCERN IS THAT A LARGER ACFT WOULD HAVE ITS GEAR OFF THE PAVED AREA AS THEY TURNED ONTO THE TXWY. THE DC9-30 GEAR IS NARROW ENOUGH TO REMAIN ON THE PAVEMENT. IN ADDITION THERE ARE SO MANY NEW CAPTS COMING ON LINE THAT RPTR IS CONCERNED THIS MAY HAPPEN AGAIN. RPTR FEELS THERE SHOULD BE A LIGHTED SIGN AT THE TXWY ENTRANCE TO ALERT FLCS TO THE SIT BECAUSE OF THE HAZARD INVOLVED. RPTR BELIEVES THE GND CTLR NOTED THE ERROR BUT SAID NOTHING AS THERE WAS NOT MUCH TO DO BUT CONTINUE WITH THE TAXI.
