Narrative
I RECEIVED CLRNC TO LAND ON RWY 8 AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 15; A NORMAL PRACTICE AT BURBANK. I ACKNOWLEDGED THE CLRNC. ON FINAL APCH; THE ACFT WAS HIGH AND; IN LOSING ALT; ARRIVED AT THE RWY THRESHOLD FAST. I STILL FULLY BELIEVED THAT I COULD STOP PRIOR TO THE INTXN WITH RWY. DUE TO THE HIGH AIRSPD; I LANDED FURTHER DOWN THE RWY THAN NORMAL AND THE ACFT BALLOONED UP ON LNDG. UPON ACTUAL TOUCHDOWN; FULL BRAKING WAS APPLIED. THE ACFT STOPPED SHORT OF ACTUALLY ENTERING RWY 15; HOWEVER; IT DID CROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE; ACCORDING TO THE TWR. (I WAS BUSY STOPPING AND DIDN'T ACTUALLY NOTICE XING THE LINE.) A BARON WAS LNDG SIMULTANEOUSLY ON RWY 15; APPARENTLY WITHOUT A HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTION; AS I WAS LATER TOLD BY THE TWR. WE BOTH ARRIVED AT THE INTXN AT THE SAME TIME AND BOTH STOPPED SHORT BUT THERE WAS A LOT OF TENSION (UNDERSTANDABLY) IN THE TWR AS IT WAS ALL UNFOLDING. IN RETROSPECT; I WISH I HAD INITIATED A GAR WHILE ON SHORT FINAL; WHILE SOMEWHAT HIGH AND FAST. EARLIER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE POTENTIAL PROB WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN LESS 'PUCKER FACTOR' FOR ALL INVOLVED.
