Narrative

DEPARTED BOG WITH A PLACARDED CTR OF GRAVITY CTL COMPUTER WITH AN MEL ITEM THAT WAS NOT ON RELEASE. THEREFORE; LOAD DID NOT KNOW TO COORDINATE THE MEL REQUIREMENTS. THE REQUIRED 1.5% ADJUSTMENT TO CTR OF GRAVITY LIMITATIONS AND COORD OF 1% ADDITIONAL FUEL NEVER TOOK PLACE. WE HAD THE FUEL AND CTR OF GRAVITY WAS WELL WITHIN LIMITS. HOWEVER; THE PROVISOS OF THE MEL WERE NOT PROPERLY COORD. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WOULD BE A CONFIGN DEV LIST REQUIREMENT ON OUR FLT THAT WT RESTR US AND WAS VERY CONFUSING. WE SPENT AN INORDINATE AMOUNT OF TIME COORDINATING THAT AND MISSED THE CTR OF GRAVITY CTL COMPUTER REQUIREMENT; ALSO BECAUSE THIS ITEM IS SO COMMON AND RARELY AS CRITICAL AS A BIG WT RESTR. I WILL HENCEFORTH BE CLOSELY COMPARING THE RELEASE TO THE LOGBOOK AND THE MEL. THE REALLY SNEAKY THING ABOUT THIS ISSUE IS THAT THE LOGBOOK WAS TOTALLY IN ORDER -- AND IN FACT; HAD BEEN THE AIRPLANE WE BROUGHT IN (WITH AFOREMENTIONED ITEMS CORRECTLY NOTED ON RELEASE THE PREVIOUS DAY). THEY WON'T CATCH ME AGAIN. APPARENTLY MAINT HAD DELETED THE CTR OF GRAVITY CTL COMPUTER ITEM FROM THE COMPUTER AS SIGNED OFF; WHEN IN FACT IT WAS STILL PLACARDED.
