Narrative
WHILE APCHING RSW ARPT; APCH CTL ASKED IF WE HAD THE ARPT IN SIGHT. WE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT WE DID AND WE WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH TO RWY 6 AT RSW. THERE WERE NO OTHER ACFT ON OUR FREQ AT THE TIME OF OUR ARR AND APCH CTL NEVER CONTACTED US TO CALL THE TWR FOR OUR LNDG CLRNC. BECAUSE OF THIS; WE CONTINUED OUR APCH AND LANDED WITHOUT A LNDG CLRNC AND TAXIED TO THE GATE WITHOUT CLRNC. THERE WERE NO OTHER ACFT IN THE AREA OR ON THE GND; SO THERE WAS NOT A SEPARATION CONFLICT. WHILE ON THE GND IN RSW; WE WERE TOLD TO CALL THE TWR ON THE PHONE. WE SPOKE WITH THE TWR MGR WHO ADVISED US OF WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED; AND HE EXPLAINED THE SIT AS SUCH THAT HIS APCH CTLR WAS AT FAULT FOR NOT TELLING US TO CONTACT THE TWR; THAT HE HAD SPOKEN TO THE CTLR ABOUT THE MISTAKE; THE MATTER WAS CLOSED AND NO FURTHER ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN. WE EXPRESSED THAT WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE ALERT AND CAUGHT THE MISTAKE; AND WOULD DO SO IN THE FUTURE. I FEEL THAT ALL PARTIES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MISTAKE. DUE THE FREQ BEING QUIET; RESULTED IN THIS MISTAKE. OUR SITUATIONAL AWARENESS MUST ALWAYS BE 100% TO AVOID THIS FROM EVER HAPPENING AGAIN.
