FAA INSPECTOR FOUND THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE LOW WARNING LIGHT DID NOT WORK; NOR DID THE ROTATING BEACON.
Narrative
AFTER DEPARTING MIA INTL ON AUG/XX/97; WITH A BE18; OPERATED ON A 135 CERTIFICATE; CARRYING 700 LBS OF CARGO FOR ACR Y; WITH DEST EYW INTL; I EXPERIENCED A LNDG GEAR IRREGULARITY. THE LNDG GEAR DID NOT RETRACT WHEN I BROUGHT THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE UP POS. THE LNDG GEAR LEVER WAS BROUGHT IN THE DOWN POS AGAIN AND THE CIRCUIT BREAKER PULLED. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINS THE CIRCUIT BREAKER WAS RESET AND THE GEAR CYCLED A SECOND TIME AND THIS TIME THE GEAR RETRACTED. A COUPLE OF HRS LATER I DEPARTED EYW INTL EMPTY; WITH DEST OPF; THE LNDG GEAR DID NOT RETRACT AGAIN AND SO I FOLLOWED THE SAME PROC I FOLLOWED BEFORE; BUT THIS TIME THE GEAR DID NOT RETRACT; SO I DECIDED TO CONTINUE TO OPF WHERE MAINT WAS AVAILABLE. UPON LNDG AT OPF FAA PERSONNEL WAS WAITING FOR ME ON THE RAMP. IMMEDIATELY I WAS ASKED TO SHOW THE ACFT LOGBOOK AND COMPANY'S MANUAL; AND THE ACFT WAS INSPECTED. A FUEL LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT WAS FOUND INOP; THING I COULD NOT CHK IN FLT BEING THE LIGHT OFF WITH PRESSURE IN THE SYS; AND THE ROTATING BEACON WASN'T ROTATING; ANOTHER THING THAT I COULD NOT CHK WHILE FLYING; AND THAT WAS WORKING DURING THE PREFLT. I RECEIVED A LETTER OF VIOLATION FROM THE FAA ABOUT THIS MATTER.
