Synopsis

AN SA227 METRO 111 WAS DISPLACED AFTER A RETURN TO THE FIELD AND CORRECTIVE MAINT WAS PERFORMED WITH NO MAINT RELEASE.

Narrative

THE CAPT AND I DEPARTED FROM HLN. SHORTLY AFTER TKOF IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ACFT WAS NOT PRESSURIZING PROPERLY. THE ACFT WAS NOT PRESSURIZING DUE TO A KICK PLATE WEDGED BTWN THE MAIN CABIN DOOR AND THE ACFT. THAT KICK PLATE WAS CRIMPING THE HOSE THAT DELIVERED BLEED AIR TO THE DOOR SEAL. THE DECISION WAS MADE TO RETURN TO THE FIELD BY THE CAPT. ALL NORMAL CHKLISTS WERE COMPLETED AND A SUCCESSFUL LNDG ENSUED. AFTER PARKING THE ACFT; THE #1 ENG WAS SHUT DOWN. THE MAIN CABIN DOOR WAS OPENED AND A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE DOOR SEAL HOSE WAS ACCOMPLISHED. AFTER THE CAPT DETERMINED THERE WAS NO DAMAGE; HE CLOSED THE MAIN CABIN DOOR AND WE PERFORMED A GENERATOR ASSISTED START ON THE #1 ENG. WE LEFT THE GATE AT XX05 LCL AND DEPARTED AT XX08 LCL. THE FLT THEN WENT ON TO GEG IN A NORMAL FASHION. AS THE FO; I QUESTIONED IF MAINT SHOULD BE INFORMED OR IF WE NEEDED ANY OTHER PAPERWORK. THE CAPT ASSURED ME THAT ALL OF THE PAPERWORK COULD BE ACCOMPLISHED IN GEG. WE ENDED UP DEPARTING HLN WITHOUT A NEW RELEASE SINCE THE OLD RELEASE WAS USED ON THE FLT THAT RETURNED TO FIELD. NEITHER CREW MEMBER KNEW A NEW RELEASE WAS NECESSARY.
