THE CAPT OF AN ACR B737 FLC DECIDED TO REPLACE THE 'B' CABIN ATTENDANT WHEN THE FLC COULD NOT FIND HIM AFTER AN OVERNIGHT STAY. WHEN THE 'B' CABIN ATTENDANT ARRIVED AFTER BOARDING HAD BEGUN; HE WAS IRATE AND APPARENTLY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL. THE CAPT DECIDED THAT HE WAS NOT TO FLY ON HIS ACFT IN ANY CAPACITY.

Narrative
'B' FLT ATTENDANT DID NOT SHOW UP IN HOTEL LOBBY WHEN WE WERE SUPPOSED TO MEET AS A CREW. WE HAD HIS ROOM CHKED (BY HOTEL SECURITY) AND HE WAS NOT THERE (NOR WERE HIS BAGS). WE ASSUMED HE WOULD BE AT ARPT. ON ARR AT ARPT; 'B' FLT ATTENDANT WAS NOT PRESENT. APPROX 30 MINS PRIOR TO ESTIMATED DEP TIME; 'A' AND 'C' FLT ATTENDANTS CALLED CREW SCHEDULING TO OBTAIN REPLACEMENT 'B' FLT ATTENDANT. WE BEGAN BOARDING USING AN EXTRA COMPANY PLT (QUALIFIED ON B737-300) AS 'QUALIFIED CREW MEMBER' (WE REQUIRE 3 CREW MEMBERS TO BE IN CABIN ON ORIGINATING FLTS DURING PAX BOARDING). ORIGINAL 'B' FLT ATTENDANT SHOWS UP AND IS MAD WE CALLED OUT REPLACEMENT 'B' FLT ATTENDANT AND SAYS HE WANTS TO FLY THE TRIP. 'A' AND 'C' FLT ATTENDANTS MEET WITH HIM AND SAY REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN CALLED AND IS ON WAY. CAPT INFORMED OF SIT BY 'A' AND 'C' FLT ATTENDANTS. 'A' FLT ATTENDANT ALLUDES THAT 'B' FLT ATTENDANT HAS SMELL OF LIQUOR ON BREATH. CAPT GOES OUT TO JETWAY TO CHK SIT BUT 'B' FLT ATTENDANT IN TERMINAL ARGUING WITH AGENTS AND CREW SCHEDULING ON TELEPHONE. CAPT; WHO NEVER DID SEE ORIGINAL 'B' FLT ATTENDANT; SAYS IN NO WAY WILL HE BE ALLOWED ON ACFT IN ANY CAPACITY -- EITHER AS CREW MEMBER OR PAX. (CAPT TOLD THIS TO 4 AGENTS IN JETWAY -- THEY AGREED.) REPLACEMENT 'B' FLT ATTENDANT ARRIVED AND FLT DEPARTED GATE APPROX 30 MINS LATE. CAPT DID NOT ALLOW 'B' FLT ATTENDANT (ORIGINAL 'B') ON ACFT DUE TO UNRULY BEHAVIOR AND POSSIBLE HOSTILITY TOWARD CREW AND POSSIBLE INTOXICATION.
