Narrative
LANDED ON CLOSED RWY AT UNCTLED ARPT. AFTER LNDG; SOMEONE WHO APPARENTLY WORKED AT THE ARPT ASKED ME IF I WOULD USE RWY 26 WHEN I TAKE OFF BECAUSE RWY 20 IS CLOSED. I CALLED THE FSS TO CHK ON NOTAMS FOR WVI. THEY SAID IT WAS NOTAMED CLOSED DUE TO WORK BEING DONE ON THE LOC. I NEVER SAW ANYBODY WORKING ON THE RWY. I DID NOT SEE ANY 'X' ON THE RWY. MY BOSS CALLED ME AT HOME TO CHANGE OUR DEP TIME FROM XB30 TO XA30; SO I WAS IN A HURRY. I WAS JUST THERE YESTERDAY. I DIDN'T TALK TO THE FSS BEFORE THIS DAY'S FLT. WHEN I WAS AT THAT ARPT THE DAY BEFORE; I SAW NO SIGNS OR ANYTHING TO INDICATE A PROB USING RWY 20. WE WERE USING RWY 26 THE DAY BEFORE BECAUSE THE WIND CLRLY FAVORED IT. I MADE SEVERAL CALLS ON THE RADIO ANNOUNCING MY POS AND INTENTIONS TO LAND ON RWY 20. FOR THE 5 MINS I WAS ON THE RADIO; NOT ANOTHER SOUL WAS TO BE HEARD; NOR DID ANYONE ADVISE ME OF THE RWY CLOSURE. SUGGESTION: IF A SERIOUS SIT REQUIRES RWY CLOSURE AT AN UNCTLED FIELD; POST SOMEBODY TO MONITOR THE CTAF AND ADVISE PLTS. IF NOT SERIOUS; DON'T CLOSE THE RWY.
