Narrative
WINDSHEAR ESCAPE MANEUVER PERFORMED OVER DFW AT 3000 FT MSL. ENTERED THE GLEN ROSE ARR AT XA45 LCL. AFTER EXCESSIVE VECTORING AND ARPT RWY CHANGES; VECTORED TO ILS APCH TO RWY 35C. RADAR INDICATED SCATTERED SHOWERS NOTHING MODERATE OR HVY ON FINAL. AT 10 DME WINDSHEAR WAS RPTED BY ANOTHER ACFT. THE CTLR THEN USED THE WORD 'MICROBURST.' ACFT AHEAD ELECTED TO GAR. WE DID THE SAME. ATC DIRECTED CLB TO 3000 FT MSL ON LOC. LEVELED AT 3000 FT MSL; 200 KTS; FLAPS 11 DEGS. PASSED INTO RAINSHOWER. WITH SPD AT 200 KTS EPR INDICATED 1.07. WE ANALYZED THIS AS BEING THE LEADING EDGE OF MICROBURST. WITHIN 1-2 SECONDS AUTOPLT KICKED OFF; ACFT ROLLED 45 DEGS R; TOOK OVER MANUALLY. BECAME DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN ALT AND HEADING. STALL INDICATION FAILURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH RAPIDLY DECREASING ALT ON THE RADIO ALTIMETER. INITIATED WINDSHEAR ESCAPE MANEUVER. GPWS WARNING MODE 1 ACTIVATED; 'WHOOP; WHOOP; PULL UP.' ENTIRE EVENT FROM ENTRY INTO RAINSHOWER TO RECOVERY TOOK ABOUT 10 SECONDS. DIVERTED TO ABI. DURING ESCAPE MANEUVER THROTTLES PUSHED TO FORWARD LIMIT SAW EPR 2.15-2.2 FOR 1- 4 SECONDS. AFTER CLBOUT ALL ENG PARAMETERS APPEARED NORMAL.
