CAPT OF A BEECH 1900; BE02; STRUCK THE WINGTIP OF ANOTHER COMPANY BE02 PARKED AT THE ADJOINING GATE; WHEN THE MARSHALL FAILED TO OBSERVE THAT A COLLISION WAS GOING TO OCCUR. BOTH ACFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THEIR STRUCK WINGTIPS.

Narrative

WHILE TAXIING OUT OF PARKING SPACE; OUR RAMP AGENT GUIDED US INTO A WINGTIP COLLISION WITH THE WINGTIP OF A PARKED ACFT. FROM MY COCKPIT VANTAGE POINT; IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE WHETHER CLRNC WAS ADEQUATE. THE RAMP AGENTS MUST PROVIDE PROPER GUIDANCE WHILE WE OPERATE IN THE CRAMPED AREA OF OUR COMPANY'S RAMP. PROPER GUIDANCE WAS NOT GIVEN IN THIS INCIDENT. IN ADDITION; THE PARKING 'T'S' SHOULD BE SPACED FURTHER APART. MY ACFT WAS PARKED IN XY. ACFT BOARDING; PREFLT; BEFORE ENG START CHK; AND ENG START CHK PROCEEDED NORMALLY. AFTER COMPLETING THE AFTER ENG START CHK; WE FLASHED THE TAXI LIGHT (INDICATING WE WERE READY TO TAXI) AND THE RAMP AGENT BEGAN TO MARSHALL US OUT. AS HE INDICATED A R TURN WAS CALLED FOR; I PROCEEDED TO TURN SHARPLY R. HE SUDDENLY GAVE ME THE 'X' SIGN AND I FIRMLY APPLIED MAX BRAKING. I FELT A BUMP AS WE STOPPED AND WE OBSERVED THAT AN IMPACT HAD OCCURRED WITH THE ACFT PARKED IN XX. THE ENGS WERE SECURED AND THE PAX WERE EVACED. DAMAGE WAS EVIDENT AND MAINT AND DISPATCH WERE NOTIFIED. CONDITIONS DURING THE IRREGULARITY WERE GUSTY WINDS AND LIGHT RAIN.
