PLT OF PA31-350 HAS BRAKE FAILURE ON LNDG ROLLOUT. AFTER CONFIRMING THAT MAINT WILL COME AND TAKE CARE OF THE PROB HE FAILS TO MAKE A LOGBOOK ENTRY.
Narrative
ON APCH INTO THE AKE ARPT; AFTER THE LNDG CHKLIST WAS COMPLETE; THE BRAKES HELD FOR A FEW SECONDS UPON TOCHDOWN. THE R BRAKE THEN WAS PUSHED TO THE FLOOR AND BRAKING ACTION WAS REDUCED TO JUST THE L SIDE. THE ACFT WAS SLOWED DOWN BUT NOT STOPPED AND WITH THE END OF A SHORT (3000 FT RWY) APCHING; I ENTERED R RUDDER AND TURNED THE ACFT R INTO THE RAMP AT THE FAST SPD. I ENTER THE SIDE OF THE RWY BY A FEW FT; WHILE CUTTING THE CORNER OF THE TXWY. THE ACFT CAME TO REST A FEW FT ONTO THE RAMP. UPON INSPECTION THE ONLY DAMAGE WAS A COUPLE NICKS OUT OF THE PROP DUE TO STONES ON THE SIDE OF THE RWY. THE CHIEF MECH WAS CALLED AND WAS TOLD ABOUT THE PROB AND TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD COME TO AKE AND FIX THE BRAKES AND THE NICKS IN THE PROP. I DID NOT WRITE UP THE ACFT DUE TO BEING TOLD IT WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF. SOME CORRECTIVE ACTIONS WOULD BE AN INCREASE OF BRAKING ACTION ON THE PREFLT INSPECTION AND TO WRITE UP ALL MECHANICAL PROBS RIGHT AFTER THE PROB ARISES; AND NOT TO DEPEND ON SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT.
