Narrative

ACFT CALLED; NO COM ESTABLISHED; NO IDENT; I JUST REPLIED STAND BY. I WAS BUSY WITH ALL POS COMBINED; NUMEROUS ARRS AND DEPS. ACFT CALLED AGAIN 3 MI E AT 1900 FT. ACTUALLY; ACFT WAS 1 1/2 - 2 MI E; RIGHT IN MY RWY 8 ACTIVE DEP CORRIDOR. PLT HAD NO IDEA WHAT HE DID. ALSO ON TELECON AFTER INCIDENT; HE DID NOT HAVE HIS PLT'S LICENSE ON HIM. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 385364: CALLED IN ABOUT 12 MI OUT; NO ANSWER. THEN CALLED 10 MI OUT; ATC SAID STAND BY. AT THAT TIME I THOUGHT I WAS CLRED INTO CLASS D AIRSPACE. ATC GOT MY N-NUMBER MIXED UP. SO I CALLED AGAIN; ATC TOLD ME TO ENTER A L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 8. GOT ON FINAL AND ASKED ME MY N-NUMBER AND TOLD ME I WAS CLRED TO LAND. ATC GAVE ME THEIR TELEPHONE NUMBER. THAT'S HOW I FOUND OUT THAT HE DIDN'T CLR ME INTO HIS AIRSPACE. I REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED. I GOT CONFUSED AND THOUGHT I WAS CLRED WHEN ATC SAID STAND BY; BUT HE DID SAY MY N-NUMBER; THEN STAND BY. I TALKED TO AN INSTRUCTOR WHICH CLRED EVERYTHING UP WITH ME. THE OTHER NUMBER ATC WAS USING WAS CESSNA XCB; INSTEAD OF ARROW XAB.
