Synopsis

THE ACR FLC OF A BA32 HITS ANOTHER BA32 AS THEY WERE ATTEMPTING TO MANEUVER OUT OF THEIR PARKING AREA.

Narrative

REGARDING L WINGTIP AND TAIL CONE COLLISION ON RAMP. PRIOR TO ACFT MOVEMENT; THE CAPT AND I DISCUSSED EACH OTHER'S RESPONSIBILITIES REGARDING ACFT CLRNC WHILE IN THE CONGESTED RAMP AREA AND AGREED THAT THE ACFT WOULD NOT BE TAXIED WITHIN 5 FT OF ANY OBJECT. WHILE GUARDING THE BRAKES; I PRIMARILY FOCUSED MY ATTN ON THE R SIDE OF THE ACFT AND VERBALLY CLRED THE AREA AND THE ACFT SUBSEQUENTLY BEGAN AN ARCING R-HAND TURN. DURING THE ACFT MOVEMENT I QUICKLY SCANNED THE AREA IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF THE ACFT AND RESUMED SCANNING THE AREA TO THE R OF THE ACFT. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE ACFT STOPPED. AFTER A SHORT PAUSE; THE CAPT ASKED IF THE AREA TO THE R OF THE ACFT WAS STILL CLR OF OBSTRUCTIONS. WHILE CONTINUOUSLY GUARDING THE BRAKES I RESPONDED THAT THE AREA TO THE R OF THE ACFT WAS CLR OF OBSTRUCTIONS AND THE ACFT RESUMED ITS MOVEMENT; BUT QUICKLY STOPPED AGAIN. THE CAPT THEN ANNOUNCED THAT THE RAMP PERSONNEL WERE SIGNALING FOR THE ENGS TO BE SHUT DOWN. THE APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS WERE COMPLETED AND THE ENGS SHUT DOWN. THE ACFT WERE PARKED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. RAMP PERSONNEL NEEDING ADDITIONAL TRAINING.
