AN ACR MD80 FLC SELECTED THE WRONG FLAP SETTING DURING TAXI OUT AND THE TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED AND THE FLC PERFORMED A LOW SPD REJECT.

AN ACR MD80 FLC SELECTED THE WRONG FLAP SETTING DURING TAXI OUT AND THE TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED AND THE FLC PERFORMED A LOW SPD REJECT.
Narrative
OUR TAXI OUT FROM SEA; A 6 DEG FLAP WAS PLANNED FOR TKOF. THE 6 DEG SETTING DID NOT GET SET IN THE FLAP TKOF SELECTOR. THE FLAP/SLAT TKOF ITEM WAS NEVER CALLED OUT ON THE BEFORE TKOF MECHANICAL CHKLIST. WE HAD NO TFC IN FRONT OF US FOR TKOF AND UPON TAKING THE RWY WE RECEIVED A FLAP TKOF WARNING. WE ABORTED THE TKOF AT LOW SPD; CLRED THE RWY; RESET THE FLAPS AND DEPARTED WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT. THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST HAD BEEN CALLED COMPLETE. I ASSUMED THAT THAT FO INADVERTENTLY BUMPED THE TAB OVER. WE TAXIED OUT WITH NO TFC IN FRONT OF US AND SO THERE WAS NO EXTENDED TIME TO RECHK ITEMS. AT THE GATE I HAD SET THE TKOF CONDITION FLAP SET AT 6 DEGS; BUT DID NOT REACH OVER AND SET THE SELECTOR SETTING. NORMALLY IF I SET ONE I SET OR CHK BOTH. THE FO MAY HAVE BEEN WORKING IN THAT AREA AT THE TIME. ALL I KNOW IS THAT I FAILED TO CHK THE FLAP SELECTOR AT THAT TIME AND THAT THE FLAP/SLAT ITEM ON THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST WAS NOT CALLED OUT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 388420: ON TAXI OUT I CALLED OUT AND SET THE STANDARD FLAPS 11 DEGS INSTEAD OF FLAPS 6 DEGS SPECIFIED FOR THIS TKOF. WHEN THE MECHANICAL CHKLIST WAS ACCOMPLISHED; SOMEHOW THE FLAPS/SLATS SWITCH WAS MOVED WITHOUT BEING DONE. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE THAT I FELT RUSHED IN PERFORMING BEFORE TKOF CHKS. IN THE FUTURE I WILL BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL NOT TO BE RUSHED IN PERFORMING THE REQUIRED CHKLISTS.
