Narrative
WHILE STANDING IN THE COCKPIT DOORWAY DEPLANING PAX; I FELT 3 DISTINCT AND LARGE IMPACTS ROCK THE AIRPLANE. NOT KNOWING WHAT HAD HAPPENED; I MADE A QUICK PA TO THE APPROX 15 PAX STILL ON BOARD TO TAKE A SEAT UNTIL I COULD DETERMINE A SAFE EXIT RTE. THE JET BRIDGE HAD DROPPED 3 FT BELOW DOOR LEVEL. IT BECAME APPARENT AFTER A FEW SECONDS THAT THE GND TUG HAD STRUCK THE ACFT. I ASKED IF ANY PAX HAD BEEN INJURED BY THE ACFT MOTION AND ALL REPLIED THEY HAD NOT. AFTER THE JET BRIDGE WAS SAFELY REPOSITIONED; I DEPLANED THE REMAINING PAX. STATION PERSONNEL ATTENDED TO THE TUG DRIVER AND ACFT DAMAGE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 394960: DURING A PREFLT WALKAROUND; A TOW TUG WAS CONNECTED TO THE ACFT (F100 2CW). I HAD TURNED AWAY FROM THE PLANE WHEN THE TUG ENG REVVED UP AND THE TUG BEGAN TO MOVE FORWARD. I HEARD A QUICK SERIES OF CRASH TYPE SOUNDS AND WHEN I TURNED TO LOOK AT THE TUG; IT HAD MOVED FORWARD AND RUN INTO THE LOWER NOSE SECTION OF THE ACFT. THE PLANE AND TUG SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE. I CHKED TO SEE THE INJURY STATUS OF THE DRIVER. HE WAS CONSCIOUS AND BEING ATTENDED TO BY ANOTHER GND CREWMAN. I THEN WENT UP THE JET BRIDGE TO CALL FOR AMBULATORY HELP.
