Narrative

I LEFT SPI AT APPROX XX30 PM ON MAR/WED/98; ON AN IFR FLT PLAN TO BMI. I INFORMED THE CTLR AT BMI THAT I HAD BMI IN SIGHT AT ABOUT 20 MI OUT AND WAS CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 2. WHEN THE RWY WAS IN SIGHT I INFORMED THE CTLR AND I WAS CLRED TO LAND. I NOTICED THAT THE RWY LIGHTS WERE NOT ON; BUT SINCE IT WAS DUSK I DID NOT MENTION THIS FACT TO THE CTLR. AS I FLARED TO LAND I NOTICED THE RWY NUMBER WAS POINTED OUT. AFTER LNDG AND SHUTDOWN; I INFORMED THE LINE CREW THAT THERE WERE SNOWDRIFTS ON THE RWY. THE LINE CREW CALLED THE TWR AND THAT WAS MY FIRST INDICATION THAT I HAD LANDED ON THE WRONG RWY; RWY 3. WHEN I WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO LAND ON RWY 2; I WAS ON RWY 3'S APCH AND DID NOT SEE RWY 2'S APCH LIGHTS AT THE ANGLE I WAS FLYING. WHEN I FILED MY FLT PLAN; I DID NOT RECEIVE A NOTAM REGARDING RWY 3'S CLOSURE. THE TWR INFORMED ME LATER THAT RWY 3 HAD BEEN CLOSED SINCE NOVEMBER 1997. THE APCH PLATES SHOW RWY 3 ON THE CHART; AND DOES NOT INDICATE IT IS CLOSED. ACCORDING TO THE ARPT FACILITY DIRECTORY; DATED CURRENT; RWY 3/21 IS AVAILABLE FOR DAY VFR ONLY.
