DURING TKOF ROLL; B767 FLC OBSERVE SMA TAXI ONTO RWY AT ONE OF THE INTXNS. FLC DETERMINE THERE WILL BE SUFFICIENT REMAINING RWY AND TKOF SPD TO MISS SMA. WHEN AIRBORNE; B767 FLC RECEIVE APOLOGY FROM SMA; WHO HAD NOT MONITORED CORRECT FREQ FOR DEP ACFT.
Narrative
I WAS MAKING THE TKOF AND DEP FROM RWY 34L AT PAINE FIELD; WA. SINCE IT WAS XA30 IT WAS DARK AND THE TWR WAS CLOSED. ALL OF THE PRE TKOF CHKLISTS WERE ACCOMPLISHED AND BROADCASTS ON CTAF WERE COMPLETED STATING OUR INTENTIONS FOR TKOF AND CLBOUT. SINCE THIS WAS A FERRY FLT AND THE B767-300 WEIGHED ONLY APPROX 240000 LBS; I MADE A ROLLING TKOF. SOMEWHERE AROUND THE '80 KTS THRUST SET' CALLOUT; BOTH THE FO AND I SAW LIGHTS MOVING ACROSS THE RWY; SOME DISTANCE DOWN THE RWY. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF SECONDS TO REALIZE THAT IT WAS A LIGHT ACFT THAT HAD TAXIED ONTO THE RWY AT ONE OF THE INTXNS. I LOOKED AT THE AIRSPD AND IT WAS RAPIDLY INCREASING TOWARD ROTATION SPD WHICH WAS 123 KTS. I JUDGED THE DISTANCE BTWN US AND THE LIGHT ACFT TO BE SUFFICIENT TO CONTINUE AND THAT THIS WOULD BE A SAFER COURSE THAN TO ATTEMPT AN ABORT. I PROMPTLY ROTATED AT ABOUT ROTATION SPD AND CLBED THE ACFT AT NORMAL CLB SPD. SINCE THE ACFT WAS SO LIGHT; THIS PROVIDED A RAPID TKOF AND CLBOUT. WE HEARD NO CALL FROM THE LIGHT ACFT THAT IT WAS TAXIING OR TAKING THE RWY FOR TKOF. LATER; DURING THE CLBOUT THE PLT OF THE LIGHT ACFT CAME UP ON CTAF AND SAID THAT HE HAD BEEN ON GND FREQ AND DIDN'T KNOW WE WERE TAKING OFF. EXTREME VIGILANCE IS WARRANTED AT UNCTLED ARPTS. POSSIBLY A SHORT STOP IN POS ON THE RWY AND A LAST CHK COULD HAVE AVOIDED THIS SIT.
