POTENTIAL CONFLICT EXISTED BTWN A DEP G4 ON CLBOUT FROM VALENCIA; SVVA; AND 2 MIL EMB314'S FLYING A LOOSE FORMATION. THE WING ACFT HAD HIS XPONDER TURNED OFF SO THE G4'S TCASII DID NOT DETECT THAT ACFT. FO SAW IT VISUALLY.

Narrative

OUR CLRNC READ; 'CLRED TO DTW; MAINTAIN LEVEL 12000 FT; FLT PLAN RTE. TURN R AFTER TKOF.' VALENCIA TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF; 'TFC IS A MIL FLT.' AFTER TKOF; I CLEANED UP THE AIRPLANE AFTER 400 FT AGL AND STARTED A R-HAND TURN. I WAS CLBING AT 200 KTS SO AS TO CLB ABOVE THE 8700 FT MSA FOR OUR RTE. AFTER TURNING ABOUT 180 DEGS I RECEIVED A TA. I LOOKED AT THE NAV DISPLAY; SAW THE TFC ON THE DISPLAY AT 2 O'CLOCK; LOOKED OVER IN THAT DIRECTION; SAW TFC; ROLLED WINGS LEVEL AND LOWERED THE NOSE TO SLOW THE CLB AND GET A BETTER VIEW OF TFC. TFC (I BELIEVE WAS AN EMB314) PASSED OUR R SIDE ABOUT 1 MI AT OUR LEVEL +/-500 FT. AS I TURNED MY HEAD BACK L TO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD; I SAW ANOTHER EMB314 PASS BY OUR L SIDE; LESS THAN 1 MI; SLIGHTLY BELOW OUR ALT. TWR NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A FLT OF 2 MIL ACFT AND I NEVER THOUGHT TO ASK. DIRECTION AND ALT WAS ALSO NOT RELAYED. LOOKING AT TCASII; I SAW 1 TARGET AND THAT'S ALL I SAW WHEN LOOKING OUTSIDE. THE FLT MUST HAVE BEEN LOOSE WITH THE LEAD HAVING THE XPONDER ON. NEXT TIME I WILL ASK SOME QUESTIONS WHEN GIVEN A TA LIKE THIS ONE.
