Narrative
ON DEP THE T-HANDLE (FIRE LIGHT) ILLUMINATED AND MASTER WARNING ILLUMINATED JUST AFTER ROTATION CALL. THE T- HANDLE THEN WENT OUT AND THEN CAME BACK ON AND STAYED ON UNTIL THE ENG WAS SHUT DOWN BY THE CREW AFTER 400 FT AGL (COMPANY PROC). AT 1500 FT AGL; WE DECLARED AN EMER WITH TWR THEN COMPLETED APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS AND STARTED TFC (VFR) BACK TO RWY. WE COMPLETED COMPANY CALL BUT BY THIS TIME WE WERE ON FINAL AND DID NOT HAVE TIME TO BRIEF PAX BUT DID GIVE THEM THE AUTOMATED BRIEF FOR LNDG. WE LANDED NORMALLY AND EXITED THE RWY FOR EVACS. I (FO) EVACED OUT THE AIRSTAIR DOOR (NORMAL EXIT) AND GAVE A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WHY WE WERE EVACING. THEN I COLLECTED THE GROUP OF 9 PAX; MET THE CAPT FOR A HEAD COUNT. THE CAPT WORKED WITH ENG FIRE AND RESCUE AND I BRIEFED THE PAX COMPLETELY. THE ENG WAS FOUND TO BE COLD BY CFR AND WAS LATER TAXIED BY A MECH (SINGLE ENG) BACK TO HANGAR. PAX WERE TRANSPORTED BACK TO TERMINAL. NOT ONE PAX SEEMED TOO CONCERNED ABOUT ANYTHING EXCEPT CATCHING THE NEXT FLT.
