PLT OF A 206B BELL HELI; (BH06); FLEW THE ACFT FROM ENG GND RUN-UP PAD; WHERE HE WAS TESTING THE ENG ANTI-ICE VALVE AFTER REPLACEMENT; TO HOME BASE WITHOUT ACFT LOGBOOK SIGN OFF FOR RETURN TO SVC. MECH DROVE TO THE ACFT AND SIGNED OFF THE LOGBOOK.

Narrative

THE OWNER/PLT ARRIVED IN THE ACFT TO DISCUSS A PROB NOTICED AFTER WORK WAS PERFORMED AT OUR REPAIR STATION THE NIGHT BEFORE FOR LOW PWR. AFTER DISCUSSION WITH THE OWNER/PLT; FURTHER TROUBLESHOOTING WAS PERFORMED. THE FAULT WAS FOUND NOT TO BE RELATED TO THE WORK PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED; BUT ADDING TO THE PROB OF LOW PWR AND POSSIBLY CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ANTI-ICE VALVE. THE ANTI-ICE VALVE WAS REPLACED BY A LINE MECH. AFTER REPLACEMENT OF THE VALVE THE OWNER/PLT ASKED IF THE WORK WAS FINISHED IN A WAY THAT LED THE MECH TO THINK THAT THE PLT WAS ASKING IF THE MECH WAS READY FOR A GND RUN TO CHK OP OF THE VALVE. THE MECH ANSWERED THAT HE WAS READY FOR A GND RUN. THE OWNER/PLT STARTED THE ACFT AND CHKED THE OP OF THE ANTI- ICE SYS. AFTER SEEING PROPER OPS THE PLT LIFTED OFF AND DEPARTED FOR HIS HOME BASE. THE MECH DID NOT HAVE TIME TO HAVE THE PROPER LOGBOOK ENTRY MADE. THE PLT REFUSED TO RETURN FOR THE SIGN-OFF WHEN CALLED OVER THE RADIO. THERE WAS NO FURTHER INCIDENTS; THE MECH DROVE TO ACFT AND MADE ENTRY.
