AN FK28 HAS TO ABORT HIS TKOF WHEN THE CAPT NOTES A CESSNA ACFT LNDG OPPOSITE DIRECTION ON RWY 2 AT FCA; MT.
Narrative
I WAS REQUIRED TO CONDUCT A REJECTED TKOF; AT A RELATIVELY HIGH SPD DUE TO CONFLICT WITH A C172. THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS WHICH OCCURRED AS FOLLOWS: WE TAXIED FOR DEP AT GLACIER PARK INTL RWY 20 FOR AN IFR FLT (SCHEDULED ACR) TO SEATAC INTL. DUE TO INBOUND IFR TFC WE ARE REQUIRED TO HOLD ON THE GND. THIS IFR ACFT CANCELS ON FINAL APCH TO RWY 2; AND LANDS ON RWY 2. NEXT; A MOONEY RPTS ON CTAF; BASE TO FINAL FOR RWY 20. THIS ACFT LANDS ON RWY 20. AS THE MOONEY ROLLS OUT; WE TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 20. WE ALSO RPTED THIS ON CTAF (123.0 MHZ). AFTER THE MOONEY CLRS THE RWY; WE RPTED TAKING OFF ON RWY 20; APPLIED PWR; AND BEGAN THE TKOF ROLL. AT 115 KIAS; I SAW A C172 ON THE OPPOSITE END OF OUR RWY; COMING TOWARDS US. OUR SPD WAS 9 KTS BELOW V1; AND I EXECUTED A REJECTED TKOF PROC. NEITHER ACFT WERE IN DANGER OF COLLIDING. THE CESSNA EXITED THE RWY AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP. WE RETURNED TO THE GATE; AND POSTFLT INSPECTION SHOWED OUR #2 MAIN TIRE FUSE PLUG HAD MELTED RESULTING IN A FLAT TIRE. I FEEL THE REAL CAUSE OF THIS SIT IS: 1) MULTIPLE OPS FROM ALL TYPES OF ACFT; AT AN UNCTLED ARPT. THIS ARPT HAS SOME VERY BUSY TIMES WITH MANY ACFT IN THE AREA. 2) THE PLT OF THE CESSNA WAS NOT COMMUNICATING ON CTAF (123.0 MHZ) AND NOT LOOKING FOR OTHER ACFT IN THE AREA. I SUSPECT HE SAW THE FIRST ACFT LAND ON RWY 2 AND SIMPLY ASSUMED TO USE THIS RWY. ALSO THE CESSNA PLT TOLD THE FBO HE THOUGHT HE WAS AT KALISPELL CITY ARPT. NOTE: CTAF AT KALISPELL CITY ARPT IS 122.8 MHZ. THE CESSNA LANDED AT GLACIER PARK INTL RWY 2; AFTER THE MOONEY LANDED; WHILE WE WERE 'TAXIING INTO POS AND HOLD.'
