CAPT OF A DC9-30 FAILED TO FOLLOW THE TAXI FOR TKOF TWR INSTRUCTIONS RESULTING IN TURNING ON THE WRONG TXWY AND PASSING A RWY HOLD SHORT LINE. THE TWR CTLR INTERVENED AND REQUESTED THE RPTR'S ACFT TO STOP IMMEDIATELY AND CLRED ACFT ON FINAL TO LAND AND HOLD SHORT OF THEIR TXWY.

Narrative
I WAS THE FO ON A FLT FROM GRB TO MSP. WE REVIEWED OUR TAXI CLRNC 'TAXI TO RWY 36.' THE CAPT BRIEFED ME THAT WE WOULD USE TXWY J AND THEN TURN L ON TXWY M. BUT WHEN WE REACHED THE INTXN OF TXWYS J; K AND M; THE CAPT TURNED R ON TXWY K; JUST AFTER XING THE HOLD SHORT LINE GRB GND CTL TOLD US TO STOP AND WE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. THERE WAS A SMALL ACFT ON SHORT FINAL (ABOUT 1 MI) TO RWY 36 WHO I BELIEVE WAS THEN TOLD TO LAND AND HOLD SHORT OF TXWY K. OUR ACFT'S NOSE WAS NOT PROTRUDING ONTO THE RWY; BUT IT WAS OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE. THE SMALL ACFT LANDED AND TURNED OFF RWY 36 AT TXWY M4. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT OR INCURSION. THE FACTORS THAT LED TO THIS EVENT ARE: 1) I HAD JUST FINISHED AN ATC REROUTE CLRNC ISSUED BY GND CTL; 2) I BELIEVE THERE WAS ONLY 1 ATC CTLR FOR GND; TWR AND CLRNC DELIVERY; AND 3) THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SOME CONFUSION ON BOTH MYSELF AND THE CAPT'S PART DUE TO EXTENSIVE RWY; RAMP AND TXWY CONSTRUCTION. I BELIEVE FUTURE PROBS LIKE THIS CAN BE AVOIDED; IF PLTS DO NOT ACCEPT LONG REROUTE CLRNCS WHILE TAXIING. WE SHOULD HAVE STOPPED AND RECORDED THE CLRNC. ATC COULD WAIT UNTIL ACFT ARE STOPPED TO ISSUE CLRNCS. PLTS BOTH TAXIING AND RIDING MUST BE DILIGENT AND EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE TAXIING.
