Narrative
IT WAS LATE IN THE AFTERNOON OF OUR 4TH DAY OF FLYING; AND THE CAPT WAS AT THE CTLS. VISIBILITY WAS 4 MI (MVF) IN HAZE AT DFW; SO WE WERE VECTORED FOR AN ILS TO RWY 31R AT DFW. WE WERE CLRED FOR THE APCH; AND I MADE ALL THE APPROPRIATE CALLOUTS; INCLUDING 'NO FLAGS; GEAR DOWN; CLRED TO LAND.' AFTER WE LANDED; I REALIZED THAT WE HAD NOT SWITCHED TO TWR FREQ; AND WERE STILL ON APCH. I TOLD THE CAPT; AND HE INSTRUCTED ME TO CONTACT THE TWR. I DID; AND THE CTLR ASKED IF I HAD HEARD HIS XMISSIONS. I CONFESSED THAT WE HAD NOT SWITCHED TO HIS FREQ; AND APOLOGIZED. HE SAID NOT TO WORRY; AND GAVE US FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. I BELIEVE THAT THE CAUSE OF THIS DEV FROM THE REGS WAS COMPLACENCY. IT HAD BEEN VISUAL APCHS ALL WK; AND WE HAD NOT 'GEARED UP' OUR MINDS FOR A 'REAL' ILS APCH. I LOST FOCUS AND MADE THE CALLOUT 'CLRED TO LAND' WITHOUT GIVING IT ANY MEANING. I WAS JUST GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS. FROM NOW ON; I WILL PAY MORE ATTN; FOCUS ON THE TASK AT HAND; AND THINK ABOUT THE MEANING OF THE CALLOUTS THAT WE GIVE DOZENS OF TIMES EVERY MONTH.
