A DEP B767 FREIGHTER FAILS TO FOLLOW THE SID TRANSITION AS GIVEN BY TPE DEP CTL. THE PIC PF DID NOT 'COPY' THE TRANSITION WHEN THE CLRNC WAS ISSUED IN CLB.
Narrative
CAPT DID NOT HEAR/UNDERSTAND TRANSITION ADDED TO FILED DEP. FO HEARD AND CLARIFIED THE TRANSITION WITH INTL RELIEF OFFICER; BUT NEVER PUT THE TRANSITION IN THE FMC. ATC CALLED AND GAVE US A VECTOR AND ASKED IF WE RECEIVED THE TRANSITION. TO CAPT'S SURPRISE; FO SAID YES! INTL RELIEF OFFICER WAS MOST EXPERIENCED ON THE LEG; WHICH IS WHY THE FO USED HIM AS A RESOURCE. ATC THEN VECTORED US TOWARD THE TRANSITION. WE APOLOGIZED 3 TIMES AND ATC CTLR SAID IT WAS NOT A PROB. CAPT HAD COPIED THE NAME OF THE DEP BUT NOT THE TRANSITION AND HAD CHKED THE FLT PLAN AND THE FMC; WHICH AGREED. 1. CTLR THAT ISSUED THE CLRNC HAD APPARENTLY SAID 'CALL ME BACK WHEN YOU ARE READY TO COPY.' WE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HIM AND WAITED FOR OUR CLRNC. WHEN WE CALLED HIM AGAIN; HE RATTLED IT OFF SO FAST WE WEREN'T READY TO COPY; AND MISHEARD THE CLRNC. 2) 3 CAPT CREW; 2 CHK AIRMEN; AND 1 DESIGNEE ON THE ACFT -- WE ALL KNOW THE PITFALLS THERE. 3) I WILL ENSURE CLRNC IS UNDERSTOOD BY ME COMPLETELY IN FUTURE. 4) FOREIGN LANGUAGE DIFFICULTIES.
