AN EMB120 ON VISUAL APCH TO RWY 25R LAX; MAINTAINS VISUAL SEPARATION ON THE ACFT TO RWY 25L. THE EMB120 STAYS ONE QUARTER MI BEHIND THE OTHER ACFT AND ONE DOT HIGH ON THE GS. IN DOING SO; THE OTHER ACFT GETS MANY TCASII RA'S AND THE FLC BECOMES ANGRY.

Narrative

WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO LAX RWY 25R TO FOLLOW AN XYZ B757 ON AN APCH TO RWY 25L. FLT VISIBILITY WAS UNLIMITED AND WE SAW ARPT AND XYZ (INITIALLY AT 12 O'CLOCK POS AND 5 MI). WE WERE GIVEN A SPD OF 210 KTS AND A HDG OF 290 DEGS TO INTERCEPT FINAL; WHICH PUT US ON A CONVERGENCE COURSE WITH THE B757. I PASSED OVER THE B757 FLT PATH BY 1500 FT (ACCORDING TO OUR TCASII) AND APPROX 1 MI IN TRAIL; THEN I DSNDED ON OUR RWY 25R CTRLINE TO APPROX 1 DOT HIGH AND 1/4 MI IN TRAIL (LATERAL NAV VIA VISUAL AND RWY 25R LOC). XYZ PLT COMPLAINED TO TRACON OF TCASII RA. THEY INFORMED HIM OF OUR PRESENCE AND THAT WE WERE ON A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 25R AND MAINTAINING VISUAL SEPARATION WITH HIM. HE AGAIN COMPLAINED TO LAX TWR AND SAID HE 'WOULD FILE A RPT.' THROUGHOUT APCH (FROM OM TO GND) WE MAINTAINED APPROX 1/4 IN TRAIL AND 1 DOT HIGH ON GS. I FEEL THIS IS A MUCH SAFER POS TO BE IN REGARDING WAKE TURB AVOIDANCE COMPARED WITH 2-3 MI IN TRAIL WHICH IS WHERE I THINK THE XYZ PLT WOULD HAVE WANTED US.
