Narrative
WE WERE FOLLOWING AN ACR Y DC10 ON AN ILS TO RWY 4R IN EWR. THE CAPT WAS FLYING AND STAYED ABOVE GLIDE PATH FOR WAKE TURB AVOIDANCE. WE LANDED LONGER THAN USUAL AS A RESULT. THE DC10 EXITED ON TXWY K AND WE MISSED TXWY L AND TXWY Y. THE TWR CTLR WAS NOT VERY HAPPY THAT WE MISSED TXWYS L AND Y; STATING GRUDGINGLY TO EXPEDITE TO THE END; 'MAKE L ON TXWY Z; L ON TXWY R AND CROSS RWY 29.' HE ALSO ADDED THE PRESSURING REMARK THAT THERE WAS TFC '1 MI BEHIND US.' I THOUGHT UNLESS THE PLT ACCEPTS A LAHSO CLRNC; YOU CAN USE ALL THE AVAILABLE RWY. AFTER MISSING TXWY Y; THE CAPT MADE THE NEXT AVAILABLE TURN TO EXIT THE RWY; TXWY ZB; AND WE SUDDENLY FOUND OURSELVES IN FRONT OF A SET OF BARRICADES DIMLY LIGHTED. THE AIRPLANE WAS STOPPED COMPLETELY ON THE TXWY BUT WE COULDN'T MANEUVER OUT OF IT. WE REQUIRED A TUG TO BACK US OUT OF TXWY ZB AND CONTINUED TAXI TO THE TERMINAL. NO INJURIES OR BENT METAL OCCURRED. I BELIEVED FAILURE OF EWR ARPT ATC TO INCLUDE THE CLOSURE OF A TXWY USED TO EXIT A RWY IN THE ATIS/NOTAMS CONTRIBUTED TO THIS INCIDENT. HAD WE BEEN AWARE OF THIS; IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BRIEFED AND WE WOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE OF IT. I HAVE LANDED IN EWR SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THIS INCIDENT AND TXWY ZB IS STILL CLOSED AND IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN PUT IN THE ATIS OR NOTAMS.
