A B757-200 WAS DISPATCHED TO AN ARPT WHILE THE FLT OPS MANUAL FOR THAT ARPT CONTAINED NO PERFORMANCE DATA.
Narrative
ACR SWITCHED ACFT ON FLT TO PDX. DESPITE PROCS AND THE SYS IN PLACE; WE WERE DISPATCHED TO PDX WHICH IS DESIGNATED AS AN ALTERNATE ARPT ONLY FOR THE B757. NOTHING SEEMED OUT OF PLACE UNTIL I STARTED CALCULATING TKOF PERFORMANCE FIGURES FOR PDX; WHEN; UPON CONTACTING DISPATCH FOR THE PERFORMANCE DATA; BECAUSE IT WAS NOT IN THE RWY ANALYSIS BOOK; THE DISPATCHER REALIZED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THE B757 IS ABLE TO USE PDX. WE MADE A FULL PWR TKOF BASED ON THE DATA WE RECEIVED FROM DISPATCH. PERCEPTIONS: THE CAPT HAD FLOWN B737'S TO PDX FOR MANY YRS; SO HE SAW NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I HAD FLOWN TO PDX OFTEN WHEN I WAS A COMMUTER PLT AND KNEW IT IS AN ACR HUB; SO I DIDN'T HAVE ANY DOUBTS ABOUT A B757 LNDG AND TAKING OFF THERE. OUR PERFORMANCE BOOK DOES HAVE SINGLE ENG GAR PROCS FOR PDX; SO ON APCH I SAW NOTHING AMISS. SOLUTIONS: IT SEEMS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE DISPATCH FLT PLANNING PROGRAM WOULD NOT HAVE AN ALARM FUNCTION WHEN AN ACFT IS DISPATCHED TO AN ARPT IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO FLY TO. FROM NOW ON; I WILL DEFINITELY CHK THE OPS SPECS WHEN TAKING A FLT TO AN ARPT I HAVE NOT BEEN TO IN THE B757 BEFORE.
