FK10 CREW HAD QUESTIONABLE CONDUCT BY AN ALLEGED FAA ACI.

Narrative

FAA INSPECTOR. WHILE DEPLANING A DELAYED FLT FROM LGA TO YYZ A MAN WALKED PAST THE COCKPIT; TURNED AROUND BY THE EXIT; AND LOUDLY BLURTED OUT 'SORRY GENTLEMEN; FAA INSPECTOR; 3 SAFETY VIOLATIONS; 2 FOR LIGHTS; 1 FOR DEMO.' THIS STATEMENT SURPRISED ME AND MY RESPONSE WAS TO LOOK AT MY FO AND THEN BACK AT THE MAN AND SAY 'I DON'T THINK SO;' IN A QUESTIONING TONE OF VOICE AND AS HE DEPARTED UP THE JETBRIDGE; I HEARD A FAINT RESPONSE; 'YOU'LL READ IT IN THE RPT.' MY CREW THOUGHT HE WAS A DISGRUNTLED PAX. I WOULD EXPECT AN FAA INSPECTOR TO PRESENT HIS IDENT AND THEN DISCREETLY DISCUSS HIS CONCERNS WITH US IN DETAIL; NOT TO LOUDLY ACCUSE US OF SAFETY VIOLATIONS IN FRONT OF OTHER PAX. I DID NOT WISH TO CHASE HIM UP THE JETBRIDGE TO FIND OUT MORE DETAIL. I DON'T KNOW IF HE WAS REFERRING TO SOMETHING OUR CABIN CREW DID; OR SOMETHING THE COCKPIT CREW DID. THE ONLY THING I COULD THINK OF WAS THAT WHEN MY NEW HIRE FO MADE HIS 'PREPARE FOR ARR' PA HE FIRST MADE THE COMMENT; 'ONCE AGAIN WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE DELAY.' I BRIEFED HIM ON THE REQUIREMENT TO BE VERBATIM WITH THE PA. I HAVE NOT HAD A VIOLATION AND HOPE NOT TO GET ONE; BUT IF THE MAN WAS REALLY AN INSPECTOR AND THERE IS SOME SORT OF ALLEGED VIOLATION; WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT AND HOW SHOULD I DEAL WITH IT?
