AC14 PLT; UNFAMILIAR WITH ARPT; TAXIES ACROSS RWY AFTER BEING INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT.

Narrative

PUEBLO GND CTLR ISSUED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS OF 'TAXI TO RWY 8L; HOLD SHORT OF RWY 8R.' AT PUEBLO MEMORIAL; RWY 8R IS PART OF THE SAME PAVEMENT AS THE RAMP WITH ONLY A SOLID YELLOW LINE SEPARATING THE TXWY FROM THE RWY. AS I TAXIED W ON THE TXWY IT APPEARED THE TXWY CONTINUED PARALLEL TO RWY 8R AND XING RWY 17/35 (SEE THE ATTACHED ARPT DIAGRAM I WAS USING). AFTER XING THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND RWY 17/35; THE GND CTLR (WHO WAS ALSO THE TWR CTLR CONCURRENTLY) INFORMED ME I WAS TO HAVE HELD SHORT; BUT GO AHEAD AND CONTINUE TO TAXI TO RWY 8L. THERE WAS NO LNDG OR TAXIING OTHER ACFT ON RWY 8R OR RWY 17/35 THEREFORE NO DANGER TO OTHER ACFT OCCURRED. ONLY A VIOLATION OF THE HOLD SHORT DIRECTIONS. THE PROB WAS CAUSED BY MY CONFUSION AS TO WHETHER I WAS XING RWY 8R OR RWY 17/35. IT SHOULD BE NOTED; THE TXWY REMAINED S OF RWY 8R; BUT AS IT CROSSED OVER RWY 17; I GUESS IT IS ALSO CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE CONSIDERED TO BE IN THE PATH OF RWY 8R APCH. I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT THE CTLR WAS TELLING ME TO TAXI CLR OF RWY 8R; BY REMAINING ON THE TXWY. IN FUTURE; I WILL GET A PROGRESSIVE AT AN UNFAMILIAR ARPT.
