HE DOES A GOOD JOB OF REMAINING BELOW THE CLASS C AND NEARBY CLASS B AIRSPACE AND AT HIS DEST RECEIVES A GREEN LIGHT FOR LNDG.

Narrative

I WAS DEPARTING EBOUND FROM FXE ARPT. MY DEST WAS HWO. ON MY CLBOUT FROM EXECUTIVE; THE TWR TOLD ME TO TURN SBOUND (180 DEGS) AND CONTACT FLL TWR. AFTER WAITING FOR THE RADIO TO CLR; I CALLED FLL TWR. I WANTED TO FLY SBOUND THROUGH THEIR AIRSPACE. AT THIS TIME; THE TWR ACKNOWLEDGED SOMEBODY WAS CALLING BUT COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHO IT WAS. I TRIED THE SECOND RADIO AND HAD NO LUCK. AT THIS TIME I REALIZED I HAD RADIO FAILURE AND IMMEDIATELY DIVERTED DOWN TO THE COAST LINE TO AVOID TFC. I DECIDED HWO WAS THE MOST SUITABLE; CLOSE ARPT AT WHICH TO LAND. FXE WAS VERY BUSY AND FLL IS CLASS C AIRSPACE. NORTH PERRY WAS ONLY ABOUT 5 MI AWAY; AND MY PAST EXPERIENCE THERE TOLD ME IT WOULD NOT BE VERY BUSY. I CONTINUED FLYING LOW; ALONG THE COAST; TILL I WAS S OF FLL AIRSPACE AND THEN I TURNED WBOUND AND HEADED TO NORTH PERRY. I FLEW OVER NORTH PERRY AND TILTED MY WINGS TO LET THEM KNOW I HAD NO RADIO. I ALSO FIGURED THEY WOULD KNOW ABOUT MY RADIO FAILURE BECAUSE I TOLD FXE THAT NORTH PERRY WAS MY FINAL DEST. AT THIS POINT; I RECEIVED THE STEADY GREEN LIGHT FROM NORTH PERRY TWR; ENTERED THE TFC PATTERN AND LANDED.
