Narrative

I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THAT ON ABOUT XA55 LCL TIME; MAR/XA/99; WE TOOK OFF FROM RWY 26 AT IAH USING RWY 15 DATA FROM ACCULOAD. I WAS INTL RELIEF OFFICER ON THAT FLT. I CAN'T RECALL AT THIS TIME WHAT THE ACCULOAD DATA INDICATED; BUT AT THE TIME I LOOKED AT IT THERE WERE NO 'RED FLAGS' IN MY MIND ON WHAT WAS PROGRAMMED IN THE FMC. IN OTHER WORDS; THE FMC AND ACCULOAD CORRESPONDED FROM MY VANTAGE POINT IN THE REAR JUMP SEAT. HOW WE WERE SUCKERED INTO USING RWY 26 WITH NO VALID DATA; I CAN'T FIGURE OUT. FLT WAS FROM IAH TO NRT; JAPAN. I BELIEVE THE PROB WAS CAUSED BY ABSENCE OF UNRELENTLESS VIGILANCE IN XCHKING AND DOUBLECHKING DATA THAT IS RECEIVED IN RELATION TO WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING ON AND PROGRAMMED. WHAT I LEARNED WAS THAT I MUST CONSTANTLY LOOK DILIGENTLY AND CAREFULLY AT ALL DATA CONCERNING THE FLT AND CONSTANTLY XCHK THE DATA WITH WHAT IS GOING ON OR DEMANDED OF THE FLT. I HAVE PRIDED MYSELF WITH BEING CAREFUL AND CONSERVATIVE IN MY FLYING PROFESSION. I AM EMBARRASSED THAT THIS HAPPENED TO ME AS A CREW MEMBER. IT IS ESTIMATED THE B777 ACFT TOOK OFF OVERGROSSED 2000-5000 LBS FROM THE INFO THAT I HAVE RECEIVED.
