B777 FLC STRIKES TAXI LIGHT AT CDG.
Narrative
AFTER LNDG ON RWY 27 AT CDG I CLRED THE RWY ONTO TXWY 11. I WAS CLRED TO TAXI VIA 'TXWYS D; A; A LOOP.' I MISSED THE FIRST L TURN ONTO TXWY D AND ASKED PERMISSION TO TAKE THE SECOND L ONTO WHAT IS ALSO KNOWN AS TXWY D TO CONTINUE VIA TXWY D7 AND TXWY D6. AT THE TXWY D6 INTXN WITH THE TXWY A LOOP WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO 'CONTINUE VIA TXWY D LOOP OR R TURN ONTO TXWY A LOOP.' THIS IS A PAVED INTXN. I ELECTED TO TURN R ONTO THE TXWY A LOOP. THIS IS ABOUT A 130 DEG R TURN ONTO THE TXWY A LOOP. I STEERED AS FAR FORWARD AND TO THE L AS POSSIBLE BEFORE BEGINNING THE R TURN. AFTER ARRIVING AT PARKING; I WAS ADVISED THAT THE ACFT HAD STRUCK A TAXI LIGHT. I OBSERVED A PIECE OF RUBBER ABOUT THE SIZE OF MY LITTLE FINGER PROTRUDING FROM THE TREAD AREA OF ONE OF THE R GEAR TIRES AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRE WOULD BE CHANGED. ALTHOUGH I THOUGHT THE ACFT COULD EXECUTE THIS TURN SAFELY; I CAN NOW SEE THAT THE TURN IS TOO TIGHT TO MANEUVER SUCH A BIG ACFT. I AM GOING TO RECOMMEND TO MY COMPANY THAT A STUDY BE COMPLETED OF THE CDG ARPT AND ASKED THAT THE ARPT TAXI MAP IN OUR MANUAL SHADE THE INTXNS WITH HASH MARKS WHICH ARE CONSIDERED TOO TIGHT FOR WDB ACFT.
