PLT HURRIES TO MAKE INTXN TKOF AT UNCTLED ARPT RATHER THAN WAIT IN LINE. ENG COUGHS AND TKOF IS REJECTED CAUSING A DELAY FOR FIRST ACFT IN LINE FOR DEP.

Narrative

THIS EVENT HAPPENED DURING AN ENRTE FUEL STOP AT X47. ALTHOUGH I WAS HURRYING; I FUELED MY OWN ACFT AS ALWAYS; TO ENSURE NO SPILLAGE; CAP SECURITY; ETC. I DRAINED SUMPS; CHKED WX AND PAID. THERE WAS A LOT OF ACTIVITY INCLUDING PARACHUTING; AEROBATICS; TOUCH AND GOES AND BANNER TOWS. AS I TAXIED TO ACTIVE I SAW A FLT SCHOOL MOONEY WAS #1 FOR TKOF; WITH ANOTHER ACFT #2. THE MOONEY DID NOT APPEAR TO BE READY; SO I ELECTED TO MAKE AN INTXN DEP. I WOULD HAVE APPROX XX FT FROM THE INTXN. JUST AS I WAS APCHING THE RWY THE MOONEY ANNOUNCED HE WAS GOING INTO POS. BECAUSE I HAD COMPLETED MY RUN-UP AND THE TXWY JOINED THE RWY AT AN ANGLE TOWARD TKOF DIRECTION I TAXIED FASTER THAN NORMAL ONTO RWY AND COMMENCED TKOF IN FRONT OF THE MOONEY; WHO WAS NOT YET ON RWY AND ABOUT 500 FT BEHIND. I THOUGHT I WOULD BE WELL OUT OF HIS WAY AND THAT AS A STUDENT TRAINING FLT THEY WOULD LIKELY BE SLOW TO ROLL. THE PROB WAS THAT JUST AS I BROKE GND; MY ENG COUGHED. I ABORTED AND ROLLED TO THE END. THE MOONEY WAITED UNTIL I CLRED RWY THEN DEPARTED. I WAS VERY EMBARRASSED TO HAVE APPARENTLY CUT IN FRONT; ON PURPOSE; THEN CAUSED A DELAY. AFTER A THOROUGH RUN-UP AGAIN I DECIDED THAT BECAUSE OF MY FUEL LOAD OF 3/4 TANK ON ONE SIDE AND 1/4 ON THE OTHER; THE SHORT TIME WHICH HAD NOT ALLOWED THEM TO EQUALIZE; AND MY TURNING TKOF ROLL THE FUEL HAD SLOSHED AROUND ENOUGH TO MOMENTARILY UNCOVER THE OUTLETS. ON NEXT ATTEMPT WITH MORE TIME TO LINE UP ON RWY; ALL WAS NORMAL. IN THE FUTURE; I WILL TAKE THE EXTRA 2 OR 3 MINS TO WAIT IN LINE RATHER THAN RISK THE EMBARRASSMENT OF INCONVENIENCING SOMEONE ELSE; OR WORSE.
