C177. TWR CTLR WANTED TO RELEASE A LIGHT TWIN FOR TKOF ON AN INTERSECTING RWY.

Narrative

WE TOOK OFF FROM BFA (BOYNE FALLS MI); PROCEEDED NORMALLY ALONG OUR FLT PLAN RTE. FROM OVER LAKE MICHIGAN; WE WERE CLRED DIRECT TO GREEN BAY. WE WERE ALWAYS IN CONTACT WITH CTR AND WERE HANDED OFF NORMALLY TO GREEN BAY APCH. UPON APCHING THE GRB ARPT; WE WERE CLRED BY APCH FOR A VISUAL TO RWY 36 AND WERE HANDED OFF NORMALLY TO THE TWR. WHICH CLRED US TO LAND. ABOUT 1/2 MI OUT I REAFFIRMED OUR CLRNC TO LAND AND THE TWR AGAIN STATED WE WERE CLRED TO LAND. DURING OUR LNDG ROLLOUT; THE TWR CALLED US TWICE SAYING 'CARDINAL NXXX (STATIC)....CARDINAL NXXX (STATIC)' (NOTHING BUT STATIC AFTER THE CALL SIGN). I THEN CALLED THEM AND STATED THEY HAD STATIC AFTER MY CALL SIGN. HE THEN YELLED OUT 'CARDINAL NXXX HOLD SHORT OF RWY 24! HOLD SHORT OF RWY 24!' I ACKNOWLEDGED THE HOLD AND HELD SHORT OF RWY 24. HE THEN CLRED A LIGHT TWIN TO TAKE OFF. AFTER BEING TOLD TO CROSS RWY 24 AND HEAD FOR PARKING; I ASKED HIM WHAT THE PROB WAS. HE STATED WE HAD BEEN LISTED AS NORDO FOR QUITE A WHILE. THAT WAS PURE HOGWASH AND HE HAD TO HAVE KNOWN IT; HAVING CLRED US TO LAND TWICE! THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHER CARDINALS GOING INTO GRB OR OSH WITH THE NXXX PREFIX; SO SOMEONE COULD HAVE ASSUMED IT WAS US -- EVEN THOUGH WE WERE IN CONSTANT CONTACT.
