PIPER SENECA GEAR UP LNDG IFP.

Narrative

I WAS DSNDING OUT OF ALT INTO LAUGHLIN/BULLHEAD ARPT (IFP). I CALLED THE TWR 10 MI OUT. THEY INSTRUCTED ME TO ENTER A R DOWNWIND FOR RWY 16 AND TO RPT MID-FIELD R DOWNWIND. I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS. THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHER ACFT IN THE AREA TALKING TO TWR WITH THE INTENTIONS OF LNDG AT IFP. I WAS CLRED TO LAND RWY 16 WHEN I RPTED MID-FIELD R DOWNWIND. MY AIRSPD WAS FAIRLY HIGH DUE TO THE DSCNT WITHOUT MUCH OF A PWR REDUCTION. I DID MY BEFORE LNDG CHKS; EXCEPT THAT I WAS WAITING TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN UNTIL I BLED OFF SOME OF THE AIRSPD. THERE WAS A LOT OF TALK ON THE RADIO; MORE THAN USUAL. I WAS LISTENING IN; AND LOOKING FOR OTHER TFC. THERE WAS A CARAVAN COMING IN BEHIND ME. MY THOUGHTS WERE ON EXPEDITIOUSLY EXITING THE RWY. I NEGLECTED TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN. DURING A CRITICAL POINT OF EXECUTING A PROCEDURAL CHKLIST I WAS DISTRACTED. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF REVISING MY PROCS IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I AM A VERY CONSCIENTIOUS PERSON AND PLT. I AM SURPRISED; AMAZED AND DEVASTATED THAT I DID THIS. IF I COULD BE OF ANY ASSISTANCE IN PREVENTING FUTURE OCCURRENCES SUCH AS THIS ONE; I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP.
