A KING AIR; ON THE L BASE LEG FOR RWY 2R AT PDK; EXPERIENCED AN NMAC WITH A CESSNA ON L BASE LEG FOR RWY 2L.

Narrative

KING AIR ENTERED TFC PATTERN ON L DOWNWIND LEG FOR RWY 2R AT PDK ARPT. WHEN ESTABLISHED ON L BASE LEG FOR RWY 2R; A HIGH WING CESSNA SUDDENLY RPTED TO THE TWR THAT HE HAD TO DIVE; IN A L TURN TO BASE LEG FOR RWY 2L; TO AVOID A KING AIR ON A L BASE LEG FOR RWY 2R. THE CESSNA RPTED A NEAR MISS. THE TWR INFORMED ME; IN THE KING AIR; THAT A CESSNA; ON MY L; HAD TO DIVE TO AVOID ME; WHILE HE WAS TURNING HIS L BASE LEG TO RWY 2L. I WAS ESTABLISHED ON MY L BASE LEG TO RWY 2R. THE TWR NEVER POINTED OUT CONFLICTING TFC TO ME; AND I INFORMED THE TWR THAT I NEVER SAW THE TFC; AFTER THE TWR INFORMED ME OF THE RPTED NEAR MISS. FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO THE SIT ARE: L BASE LEGS TO PARALLEL RWYS AT A BUSY ARPT; CTL TWR NOT POINTING OUT CESSNA TFC TO THE KING AIR. THE KING AIR HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 2R BY THE TWR; BUT NEVER SAW THE CESSNA; BECAUSE THAT TFC WAS NOT RPTED TO THE KING AIR. SUGGESTIONS TO PREVENT REOCCURRENCE ARE BETTER ATC AND COM; ESTABLISH L TFC PATTERN AND R TFC PATTERN FOR PARALLEL RWYS.
