Narrative
FOUND COCKPIT DOOR DISCREPANCY DURING TAXI PRIOR TO TKOF. RPTED DISCREPANCY TO COMPANY MAINT CTL ON FIELD VIA RADIO AND ASKED IF FLT SHOULD TAXI BACK TO GATE FOR REPAIRS. REPLY RECEIVED WAS 'NO.' AS THE COCKPIT DOOR WAS BEING CLOSED JUST PRIOR TO TKOF WHEN THE DISCREPANCY WAS FOUND AND TKOF CLRNC WAS IMMINENT; I ADVISED WE WOULD CONTINUE. FLT WAS ROUTINE FROM ZZZ-XXX. EXPECTED CONTRACT REPAIR FOR MINOR DOOR DISCREPANCY AT LAN; BUT COMPANY PERSONNEL ADVISED NO REPAIR PERSON STANDING BY OR SCHEDULED. CONTACTED FBO AT XXX; WHICH IS APPROVED FOR CONTRACTED MAINT ON COMPANY ACFT; BUT NO REPAIRMAN WAS ENRTE TO OUR ACFT AT THE TERMINAL OR SCHEDULED TO DO SO. ATTEMPTED TELEPHONE PATCH VIA FBO UNICOM WITH OUR COMPANY MAINT CTL BACK AT ZZZ; BUT ONLY ACHIEVED MESSAGE RELAY POTENTIAL; AND OUR COMPANY MAINT CTL REFUSED TO ACCEPT MY MESSAGE VIA RELAY. BY THIS TIME WE HAVE PASSED SCHEDULED DEP TIME AND HAVE FILLED ALL PAX SEATS AS WELL AS DEPLOYED AND SEATED A COCKPIT JUMP SEATER BTWN THE 2 COCKPIT DOORS; THE COCKPIT DOORS BEING SECURED OPEN AND OUT OF SVC UNTIL THE JUMP SEAT WOULD BE VACATED AND STOWED; AGAIN ALLOWING THE COCKPIT DOORS TO BE CLOSED. THE SPECIFIC DISCREPANCY HAD BEEN 'THE AIR CONDITIONING R SIDE COCKPIT DOOR BLOW-OUT SHEAR PLATE WAS FOUND TO BE INCORRECTLY INSTALLED BACKWARDS;' IMPAIRING ONLY THE BLOW-OUT FUNCTION WHEN THE COCKPIT DOOR WOULD BE SECURELY LATCHED CLOSED. THIS FUNCTION IS NOT A FACTOR WITH JUMP SEAT DEPLOYED. BACK AT ZZZ I VERIFIED PROPER REPAIR WAS CERTIFIED BY COMPANY MECH.
