MULTIPLE CABIN ATTENDANT RPT; DC10; ORD-HNL; PAX INTERFERED WITH CREW DUTIES. FAA MET THE FLT AND DETAINED THE PAX.
Narrative
PAX WAS UPSET WITH HIS AND HIS GIRLFRIEND'S SEATS. HE DEMANDED NEW SEATS SUCH AS FIRST CLASS SEATS OR CLR OTHER PAX OUT OF A MAIN CABIN ROW; SO HE COULD SLEEP. THIS SHOULD BE DONE BECAUSE HE WAS A FREQUENT FLIER CLUB MEMBER. MAIN CABIN FLT ATTENDANTS DID NOT ACT ON HIS DEMANDS. (FIRST CLASS WAS ALMOST FULL.) FROM THAT POINT; HE STOPPED EVERY FLT ATTENDANT HE SAW; OR RANG HIS CALL LIGHTS TO COMPLAIN. HE COMPLAINED ABOUT AIRLINE; FOOD; PAX SVC. HE DID THIS OVER AND OVER AND PREVENTED THE FLT ATTENDANTS TO DO THEIR OTHER INFLT DUTIES. AFTER I; THE PURSER; WENT BACK AND LISTENED TO HIM; AFTER HE FINALLY GOT A ROW CLRED; HE STILL HARASSED THE OTHER FLT ATTENDANTS. FINALLY; THE CAPT HAD TO COME BACK AND TALK TO HIM. AFTER CAPT WENT BACK TO THE COCKPIT; HE CONTINUED HARASSING THE FLT ATTENDANTS AND RINGING HIS CALL LIGHT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT THE CAPT TOLD THE MAN THAT HE WAS IN VIOLATION OF THE FAR OF INTERFERING WITH CREW MEMBER DUTIES; ESPECIALLY SINCE HE HAD TO LEAVE THE COCKPIT TO TALK TO HIM. THE MAN STILL WOULDN'T QUIT WALKING AROUND AND STOPPING FLT ATTENDANTS. THE CAPT THEN CALLED FOR THE FAA TO MEET THE FLT. WHEN THEY LANDED; THE FAA AND SECURITY GOT ON BOARD AND TOOK THE MAN OFF BEFORE OTHER PAX DEPLANED. THEY INTERROGATED THE MAN; BUT HE KNEW THAT THEY COULDN'T' REALLY DO ANYTHING TO HIM BECAUSE HE HAD NOT THREATENED OR PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED THE CREW. AFTERWARDS; THE FAA HELD A DEBRIEFING WITH THE WHOLE CREW ON THE PLANE.
