WE WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH RWY 31 ABOUT 7 SM OUT. WE HEARD COMS ON TWR FREQ WITH GA TFC ON WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS ON DOWNWIND FOR SAME RWY. WE WERE ENTERING THE TFC PATTERN ON A L BASE. FO WAS LOOKING FOR THE TFC THAT LOOKED VERY CLOSE ON TCASII; BUT NEVER SAW IT. WE WERE CLRED TO LAND RWY 31 ON FINAL. RWY 31 INTERSECTS RWY 6 AT 3200 FT; AND TXWY A AT APPROX 3000 FT. ON LNDG ROLL AND ABOUT 100 FT SHORT OF TXWY A; TWR INSTRUCTED US TO 'EXIT AT A.' WE SAID UNABLE; AND ASKED FOR RWY 6. TWR REPLIED; 'UNABLE; HOLD SHORT OF RWY 6.' WE ALREADY CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 6 ON RWY 31 AND HAD COME TO A STOP ON THE RWY INTXN. AS I LOOKED TO MY L; I SAW THE PIPER ABOUT TO TOUCH DOWN ON RWY 6 ABOUT 1200 FT FROM OUR POS. TWR INSTRUCTED THE PIPER TO GO AROUND; WHICH IT DID; CLBING ABOVE US AND AVOIDING A POSSIBLE COLLISION ON THE GND. TWR NEVER INFORMED US DIRECTLY OF OTHER TFC OR INFORMED US OF DUAL INTERSECTING RWY OPS; OR INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT -- NEITHER US NOR THE OTHER ACFT. OUR CREW WAS VERY FOCUSED ON THE APCH BECAUSE OF STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND MODERATE TURB. WE NEVER LOOKED AT THE APCH AREA FOR RWY 6. WE ALSO INCORRECTLY ASSUMED THAT THE TFC WAS BEHIND US ON FINAL FOR THE SAME RWY.
