FLC OF A DC9 IS NOTIFIED; THROUGH THE TWR; THAT ANOTHER ACR FLC OBSERVED SNOW ADHERING TO THEIR FUSELAGE.

Narrative

DEICING REQUIRED AT RDU DUE TO SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATION ON ACFT. BECAUSE OF LOW PRESSURE OF DEICING TRUCK; IT TOOK 1 HR TO DEICE ACFT. IF IT HAD NOT STOPPED SNOWING; IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE OFF. FLC WAS INFORMED ACFT CLEAN AND CLR OF SNOW AND ICE AFTER DEICING PROCS. AFTER TKOF AT 1000 FT AGL; RECEIVED RPT FROM TWR THAT ANOTHER ACR RPTED WE HAD SNOW ADHERING TO OUR FUSELAGE. RECOMMEND: ACR NEEDS TO GET ANOTHER DEICING TRUCK THAT PUTS OUT MORE PRESSURE AND NEEDS TO RETRAIN THEIR DEICING CREWS TO ACCURATELY RPT THE CONDITION OF ACFT AFTER DEICING. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE HAD SUBMITTED 2 DIFFERENT OPERATIONAL COMPANY RPTS TO ALERT HIS COMPANY WITH REGARD TO THE INADEQUATE DEICING EQUIP PROB AND THE OBSERVATION MADE BY ANOTHER ACR CREW. HE STATED FURTHER THAT SINCE THE ARPT IS SO FAR S FOR CONTINUED ICE AND SNOW; THAT HIS COMPANY HAS BEEN COMPLACENT IN ASSURING THAT THE DEICE EQUIP IS MORE EFFECTIVE. HE FURTHER STATED THAT HE LEARNED THAT HIS COMPANY'S DEICING GND CREW IS USED TO TRAIN THE DEICE CREWS OF ANOTHER AIRLINE OPERATOR. THIS OTHER AIRLINE USES MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE DEICING EQUIP. HE BELIEVES THAT HIS COMPANY HAS INITIATED PROCURING MORE EFFECTIVE EQUIP AFTER HIS RPTED EXPERIENCE.
