A BA3100 PIC USED THE WRONG TAXI RTE TO HIS ASSIGNED RWY AND ENTERED IT WITHOUT CLRNC FROM TWR AT JLN; MO.

Narrative

THIS WAS MY 4TH CONSECUTIVE DAY FLYING. THE WEEK HAD BEEN PARTICULARLY STRESSFUL. OUR REST PERIOD THE PREVIOUS NIGHT WAS REDUCED BY SCHEDULING. IT WAS MY LAST LEG BEFORE 4 DAYS OFF. WE WERE DELAYED BY A GND STOP FOR 1 HR. BY THE TIME I OBTAINED NEW WX; A NEW RELEASE; AND DEALT WITH MANY UNHAPPY PEOPLE ON THE GND IN JLN; MY BRAIN WAS FATIGUED TO SAY THE LEAST. MY LOW TIME FO WAS ALSO A DETRIMENT. OUR TAXI CLRNC WAS TO TAXI TO RWY 12. IN MY MIND I KNEW THE RTE TO RWY 12. IT WAS; HOWEVER; INCORRECT. I WAS ABOUT TO CROSS RWY 12 WHEN I REALIZED I WAS WRONG. I APPLIED REVERSE AND BRAKES AND CAME TO A STOP BEYOND THE HOLD SHORT LINES. A CPR JET WAS ABOUT 2 MI OUT ON FINAL TO RWY 12 ON THE ILS. GND ALSO NOTICED THIS MISTAKE AND CALLED US. I TOLD ATC I WOULD MAKE A 180 DEG TURN AND PROCEED THE CORRECT RTE TO RWY 12. THEY SAID OKAY AND I MADE A U-TURN. I WAS WELL CLR OF RWY 12 WHEN THE JET LANDED. I APOLOGIZED SEVERAL TIMES. TWR SAID 'NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT.' I FEEL BAD AS A PROFESSIONAL PLT THAT I ALLOWED FATIGUE AND STRESS TO CLOUD MY JUDGEMENT. I MOST DEFINITELY LEARNED FROM THIS EXPERIENCE. FATIGUE AND STRESS ARE VERY REAL FACTORS IN THE COMMUTER WORLD; AND YOU CAN BET MY TAXI CLRNCS WILL BE VERIFIED AND UNDERSTOOD CLRLY FROM NOW ON.
