Narrative
LAST LEG OF 3 DAY TRIP. 7TH DAY OF FLYING IN 8 DAYS. FLT WAS RUNNING APPROX 3 HRS LATE DUE TO WX. WE HAD FINALLY FINISHED GETTING PAX LOADED AND RECEIVED BAG WTS. THE ACFT WAS NEAR GROSS WT. WE STARTED ENGS AND WERE READY TO TAXI. IN ORDER TO LEAVE THE GATE IT REQUIRES A 180 DEG R TURN. WE SIGNALED THE GUIDEMAN THAT WE WERE READY TO TAXI. HE TOLD US TO MOVE FORWARD. IT APPEARED TO US HE WANTED US TO MOVE FARTHER FORWARD THAN USUAL. JUST AS WE WERE ABOUT TO MAKE OUR 180 DEG R TURN TO EXIT THE GATE; THE CAPT LOOKED TO HIS L AND STOPPED. BUT NOT BEFORE WE STRUCK THE JETWAY WITH THE L WINGTIP. THE JETWAY HAD BEEN RETRACTED; BUT NOT COMPLETELY. THE WINGTIP NAV LIGHT/LENS WAS DESTROYED. NO ONE ONBOARD WAS HURT. IT WAS DARK; AND WE HAD NO WING WALKERS. IN RETROSPECT; ALTHOUGH WE WERE TIRED AND ANXIOUS TO GET HOME; WE WERE CAUTIOUS. IT SEEMED HOWEVER; THE GUIDEMAN WAS IN A HURRY FOR US TO LEAVE AND WASN'T PAYING ATTN. WE HAVE PARKED AT THAT GATE 1000 TIMES WITH NO PROBS...BUT NOW WE WILL HAVE WING WALKERS.
